Friday Feature: Frank Turner

When I hear this type of music, I picture moments of jolly middle-aged people with their pints singing along in a pub. Then there's us- the 20 somethings staring at the "old" people. But sooner or later the barriers between the different generations are gone. I guess Irish folk punk is the only genre capable of doing this. And English man Frank Turner one of the best.

Turner started his career in hardcore punk band Million Dead, and after four years embarked on a solo career. His fan base has steadily grown into a faithful following (look at the tattoos!), which is easy when there's something everyone can relate to when he sings. Words of ordering the next round, feeling down after a heavy night, not wanting to grow up, music saving souls... Sounds like uni to me.
