The Lemonheads @ Shepherd's Bush Empire, London

December 12th, 2011

I did some flyering outside the venue where The Lemonheads were going to play, and I had no idea who they were so I was eager to get home and look up for information and listen to their music. Well I didn't have to wait that long to figure them out as someone gave me an extra ticket. I guess standing in the rain and looking depressed helped.

The venue was packed mainly with middle-aged folks, though there were quite a few youngster, perhaps children of the older fans. At least it seemed like that to me.

Not hearing the music before I felt entertained and delighted by the quality of it. Also, constant discussions about good songwriters at the office made it clear to me that The Lemonheads' front man and remaining original member Evan Dando was one of them.

Being all energized by the performance I was even more curious to get to know the band better. I was pretty shocked to realize that The Lemonheads go way back 1986, and that they were actually playing their classic album It's A Shame About Ray released in 1992. These are the moments when you feel so ashamed of being uncivilized. But in the end I can consider myself lucky to have given the opportunity to witness something legendary.

  2. I'm impressed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that's both equally educative and
engaging, and without a doubt, you've hit the nail on the head. The problem is something too few men and women are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I came across this in my hunt for something concerning this.
