Friday Feature: Imagine Dragons

“As a new band you play the casinos - half covers, half your own stuff – and you make ends meet. We were able to buy a band house and support ourselves. Eating ramen, but still.”, says Dan Reynolds, singer of Las Vegas- based indie rock band Imagine Dragons.

Sin City might be a great place for artists to start out, but when you think about it, not only do you compete of being the hottest act like in LA and NY, but also you have all the showgirls, roulettes and Cher against you. Luckily Imagine Dragons learned how to stand out and grab the attention of people who love to stare at "rolling fruits".

All started to come together a few years ago, when the band got a standing ovation in a tiny casino after a six-hour set. That moment bonded the band and they realized they were building a connection with people from all over the country. Since then they've toured extensively, released three EPs, received an MTV VMA nomination and are releasing their debut album next month.

Needless to say that huge success is on their way and a lot has been put out personally. Though there is something, which the band refuses to reveal; the band's name is an anagram, a phrase which they didn't want to call the band, and not even tell their mothers. Can anyone figure out what it is?

Thanks to Sophie for recommending.
