The shorter the month, the more songs uploaded. Here are my February favorites.
1. iremembertapes. - I Met You
This new track is a mixture of 80s dance and 90s euro dance, and it actually works. #ElectronicMusicIsKing
2. HAIM - Falling
I already see them in the very top of every single music site's "Top 2013 Everything".
3. James Blake - Retrograde
Another album to be waiting for...
4. ME - Vampire!! Vampire!!
Damn catchy and the voice of Luke is brilliant. Yes.
5. Alkaline Trio - The Torture Doctor
Hey! Ho!
6. Darwin Deez - You Can't Be My Girl
First I was like "damn VeVo", but then I was like " aa, haha".
7. Crystal Fighters - Separator
An interesting tune from the Londoners. Like they say themselves we like many styles.
8. Iron and Wine - Grace For Saints And Ramblers
One of my favorites getting jazzier every second.
9. Franco and the Dreadnought vs. James Gill - ?
Only now I noticed that this track doesn't have a name, but it doesn't matter, cause it's good.
10. Tree feat. Shelf Nunny & Kirsten Rosenberg - Tully
Great to have Tree back, this song and video is rather dope.
11. Shelf Nunny feat. HOLM - Wave Of Phases
Equally dope as the previous one.
12. Fun. - Why AM I The One
Featuring the band's determined suit case.
13. El Perro Del Mar - I Was A Boy
Simple, but lovely.
14. Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra - The Bed Song
The Bed Song is one of my favorite songs by Amanda Palmer, but you have to watch the video. Pick of the month right here. #tearjerker

Top 11 Devil's Rejects of 2011
After listing my top songs and videos of last year, it's time for the final list. And yes I know it's a really bad name, but I couldn't come up with anything better. But basically the Devil's Rejects list is going to consist of tracks, which just in just didn't make it into the main lists, are something that others have shared with me, something that people don't believe I like, extremely catchy or just plain random.
Here they are:
11. iremembertapes. - Gossip
When I started my internship, the first task was to listen to this song. Me and my collegue were doomed for a whole month to instinctly have this on repeat and sing along.
10. EMA - Milkman
The first time I heard her music was when she was supporting Zola Jesus. One of the best support acts I've seen. Milkman is such an energetic rocking song with a cool video. You have to love her awkward dance moves.
9. Lana del Rey - Blue Jeans
First time hearing it, I disliked it. Now 'You fit me better, than my favorite sweater' line is something I find to be genius.
8. Isaac Parker - All I Know (Isaac Parker Remix)
I'm not a huge fan of remixes, but this is bad ass. And apparently it was his first ever remix, should we believe that?
7. Los Campesinos! - By Your Hand
This is one of those songs that have a chorus, which you can imagine everyone singing all together in some rock bar. Sad lyrics, but a fun night out.
6. Red n Pink - Badman
You either love it or hate it. And I looove it. This is one of the few up and coming bands, who actually have their image all figured out. Thumbs up to that, and to the dude in 2:21.
5. Hurts - Sunday
I'm not a fan of the band, but I'm a huge fan of the song. The lyrics and melody are amazing.
4. Emmy The Great & Tim Wheeler - Home For The Holidays
Of course there has to be a Christmas song included in this list! The video is extremely cheesy, but Emma-Lee's awkward clapping in the beginning is ace.
3. Vektroid - Wild Wave
Three words for you: Summer. Skate. Tune.
2. Jimmy Wong - Ching Chong! Asians in the Library Song
Last spring a UCLA student posted a racist video on YouTube, which resulted in her receiving many death threats. And this;
And ladies and gentlemen after many great songs and videos it's time for the number one Devil's Reject of 2011. Some of you will hate me for this and some of you will think that using the devil's reject is in this case 100% compatible.
But there must be something done right, if this song pops into your mind every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Fun, fun, fun, fun.

Gnarlloween Critical Mass
28.10.2011
It started in 1992 and now it's celebrated every last Friday of the month in over 300 cities around the world. Hundreds of cyclists gather together to take over the roads, and so do those with boards, skates, anything without a motor. New Yorker described it as 'monthly political-protest rides', but Critical Mass participants have insisted it to be a 'celebration' and social gathering, not an organized demonstration.
Either so, hearing how Critical Mass lasted from 6pm until midnight the previous month, I thought it to be more like taking part in Survivor. I was quite scared of how I'd manage, especially with my grippy wheels. But my goal was to make it til the end.
As it was during Halloween weekend, people had to dress up. Some did follow up the Star Wars theme suggested by someone.
Skating for 4 hours around London was amazing. It felt like being part of a huge family; cyclists were helping out the skaters, when there was bad pavement or if they just wanted to chat. And I'll always remember that moment at a crossing at King's Cross, where people just lifted their bikes and boards up in memory of a cyclist who died on that spot.
For us to have a safe ride, cars were stopped from driving on.
There were so many people filming us with their phones, especially on Oxford Street. At that point we were halfway through the route, and my legs were feeling quite tired already. Sometimes I could hardly stay up; one moment I had difficulties getting on my board that one guy laughed 'look she's so drunk'.
Well, let's have a look at my different moments during that day.
Pre- Critical Mass
Critical Mass
Post- Critical Mass
You can imagine how exhausted we were after kicking for so many hours. And how my left thigh and right calf hurt. Also, I was pretty scared to get out of bed the next morning, and when I finally got up, I noticed that my right ankle was in a pretty bad shape too. I was a zombie that whole day. Got to say that it wasn't like Survivor, it was more like Saw.
Nevertheless I had fun. Or 'fun fun fun fun' like Rebecca Black would say it. I also reached my goal, I didn't give up. Though my common sense was telling me to, but I hardly listen to it anyways. Even now it's telling me to rather take the bike for next week's Mass.
Naa, I got a board to kill.

Club Fandango
26.9.2011
It was the first time I brought my longboard to work, since we agreed to go longboarding in the Tower Bridge area with Linda. We were super excited about that, but then we realized that iremembertapes. were performing in London that evening.
We got even more excited!
A 20-minute show the previous Thursday left us craving for more from the lovely band. This time they were doing a Club Fandango, which "presents the best in alternative indie music with regular nights across London and the UK". This fandango was at Bull&Gate up north.
There were 4 bands playing, and iremembertapes. started the evening. I'm glad they played 'First Light' this time. It's probably my favorite song of the debut album.
I also met the girl, who was in the 'Gossip' video. She looks completely different; 1. taller 2. Linda suspected the nose ring to be fake, but no it was real, someone just had punched it off 3. it's amazing what lipstick and hair spray can do to you.
The second act was White Arrows, straight from America, and it was their first time to play outside their country! I guessed they were coming from San Francisco, because of how they dressed up, but the right answer was LA, still pretty close! And they sounded like Swedish Miike Snow. We talked with the singer Mickey after the show, and it was nice of him to show his playlist on his phone, which had a lot of good songs, like Lykke Li. And he started to talk about The Doors documentary, when he saw my shirt, so cool. Also, apparently their manager used to manage Linkin Park or something?
The next to go on stage was Call The Doctor. I just loved the singer's attitude! She had a bit of a punk thing going on. Going to the audience and grabbing everyone. And we got their old EP for a pound. Now that was us being ripped off. Music should be free. Just kidding of course. People please support the artist.
video made from about 2000 still photos shot in a single afternoon on an apple iPhone
The last to play was Retraplayer. They have a song called 'Drinks in Helsinki', which obviously made us go *o/*
it's the first time i saw this video, and i thought they were joking when they said they tried to make it look like helsinki
Apparently they had been working with The Animal Farm before, then we figured maybe that was the reason for the song's name. But no, it was just a random pick.

All of the people we got to speak to were really sweet. Maybe I should be visiting more indie nights. Still when the bands have time to speak to their fans. And show were they spend their nights.
Last but not least our underground session:

The Animal Farm Club
22.9.2011
I've asked so many times Linda's memory card to transfer some pics, but I never get to the transfer point. I just look at the pictures and that's it. That's what I noticed so many times that when I search for the pictures on my laptop, they just aren't there. How stupid of me.
I'm just gonna put pics from Linda's post of the club evening, and if I see some interesting ones the next time I get the memory card, I'll just add them then.
Anyways The Animal Farm Club had four of our bands playing during the evening at the Zigfrid von Underbelly of Hoxton, simply the Underbelly.
The first band to play was The Do Or Dies, which many call The Doordies.
Then came The Manic Shine
The third act of the evening was something me and Linda were waiting for. iremembertapes. The first thing we had to do on our first working day was to listen to these guys. And they've pretty much been on repeat for the whole September in our heads. So no wonder we were desperate to see what kind of performers they were. We got to know what we're marketing, right?
The music was even better live, and the singer Tom had awesome moves, which reminded me of my friend Janne. (Those who have seen Janne dance, you know what I mean).
Last but not least- Rocketeer.
Unfortunately I didn't see them, since I got stuck at the ticket sales, but hearing the music and crowd going crazy tells me that I have to go see them, when I have the chance.
It was a fun night, thanks so much Eme and David for coming there, really appreciate it. Great music and great staff. X
Ps. Judit, my f(l)at mate in Holland finally booked her flight here for December. So excited! And she's going to bring Spanish ham yeiiiii!

Gossip from The Farm
5.9.2011
First intern day at The Animal Farm, they produce + write songs, manage artists, publish music, bang the drums, what wouldn't they do?
My job is to take care of a piglet called Linda.
And it is challenging. Like taking this lift.
I didn't really have time to be nervous of the first day, since searching for a home took all my concentration. But all in all the day went fine; chill office (sofas), chill staff. Also the parking lot is full of teenagers waiting for some famous artists to walk by. But not Noel Gallagher.
Though a head-banging laptop problem; the wi-fi doesn't work on my laptop at the office.
And whatmore! They force us to listen to great music. How can I last?
