Today I had the tastiest lecture since 9th grade; beer professional Mikko Salmi taught the beer basics to some Hospitality Management students. As a Music and Media Management student I felt it was important to know them too.
We learned how to look at the colors, smell the aromas and taste the different flavor phases from the tip of the tongue until the after taste. All I could think about was our beer tasting evenings and countless visits to the Bierreclame Museum in Breda with my Erasmus friends.
One reason to live abroad? I'll give you six.

Happy Friend's Day! Whatever, I'll see you on Facebook.
February 14th, 2012
Valentine's Day is called Friend's Day in Finland, and as it was my last evening in London too, I decided to bring the tradition amongst my Erasmus friends. It was like a circle closing, since the place where I stayed the first days, I was going to stay the last one as well. With the same menu; sushi and beer.
The cheesecake Maria baked was amazing. The blueberries on top of it, inspired by the Friends' gig, were not.
I'm so lucky and thankful to have those people who went through the same experience in Holland around me. They understood how great it was. I will miss them, but I guess we all are tired of saying goodbyes, and we know we're going to see each other somewhere, someday again.
Ps. this was the invitation photo.
And people's comments for the event;
Noooo waaaay!!!! Biach!!!! You leaving tooo?!!!!! :( PERKELE!!!!!! I hate you!
I'll be there to show my last respect..... and to drink beer obviously!!
Nobody's having any specific plans on that day, we're no couples or anything:P right?
Why there is a bloody heart on the picture??

How can people go 'wau' for this?
22.10.2011
I had it all worked out before I came to London; work during weekdays and be a tourist on weekends. That meant a lot of museums. Most of them have a free entrance here, so it was an easy plan to follow.
And no.
There is too much going on and too little time. By then I still hadn't had a proper day just staying at home. But anyways glad to finally have the time to visit Tate, the modern museum over here. Though only for an hour, and that was just 2 floors (5 exhibition floors + 2 for food and panorama view).
Ground floor is just huge. It's a good place to have a nap, and a perfect, but forbidden place to skate.
Why only 1 hour? Because Maria and Felix have been there many times already, so it was me and their flat mate, who came here for a month to learn English to explore Tate. She's from France. And she's a lawyer.
When you combine comments with a French accent, and a thing called 'art', which is most of the time a synonym for crap, it can make your museum tour pretty interesting.
All comments of the pics are said by the French, they're nothing special, but just imagine them with an accent.
I hate when people try to look so intelligent in exhibitions; they look at a piece of art like it's something wau, when it's actually rubbish. That's why in the same time it can be more interesting to look at them looking at art. People do say that what you hate in someone you can find in yourself...
Later that day..
It was the first time St. Paul's Cathedral was closed after Second World War due to the protests.
In the evening we went to some Dutch friends' house warming party. They're from Breda, can't believe how small the world is. But the best thing about hanging out with Dutch people is that they understand the languange of beer.
That is art.

for me this is not art. anyone can do this.
now this is art, i haven't seen like this before, unique work.
for me art is when you do some work for your work
*speechless*
your picture is art (hah)

London calling, Speak the slang now
31.8.2011
When I went to Holland it took me about 3 weeks to start writing my blog. So I thought that I would be updating my blog almost immediately after something interesting has happened now that I've come to London.
But no.
Searching for Wi-Fi and then searching for a home and coming home a bit tired made it impossible. But now it's the weekend, and when we look at the bright side, I've been here only just a bit over a week. Not that behind we are! Try to say that previous sentence with a Yoda voice.
Anyways, a lot has happened, emotional rollercoasters so on so on. Let's get back to the first day, otherwise my next entries won't make any sense. As if they would anyhow.
Last time I talked about a new friend, who smelled lovely. Well, her name is Samantha. Or Sammy, Sam.. I just call her The Duck. But lately I've noticed that I've been calling her with her real name, I guess somekind of bonding has happened. When you meet her the first time you don't call her Sam, you also call her The Duck or "What the hell is that".
And why does she smell good?
The seller came to tell us that buying one of those Escadas, you can have an expensive bag for free. That was the most polite kick out ever.
After landing in London (btw my first time in England, not counting Heathrow Airport) we took the train to London Bridge, where David, a friend I met in Breda (last time saw in January but felt like yesterday)came to pick us up and took us to Maria and others' house. We thought we could have bought our ticket in the train, and would have been fined for not having one, but the guard just kindly gave a warning.
And of course first expectation of London right on; pavements, grey sky and busy people.
I was really excited to see even more Breda people, but even more excited of the sushi evening waiting for us! The German wanted to make sushi for his b-day, so big thanks to him!
All in all a lovely evening, except for the fact that one of my favorite Liverpool players, Meireles, transferred to Chelsea -.- UGH

De laatste doei
I haven't really concluded my exchange year, but now I'm going to do it somehow since I'm on my way to somewhere else. Though there are yet stories worth telling, but more of them at some point.
Anyways, de laatste doei, meaning the last bye. Why this? Well because during the last days I got so tired of saying constantly bye to others. Now some might think that I'm mean, but no others felt the same too. Maybe I should have gone earlier, or maybe it was good that I got kind of tired and was ready to leave back home.
When I was writing my exchange report, they asked for 6 practical tips for people going to Breda. Here's one of mine; don't trust your fellow student's information about school.
As weeks passed by in Finland, I started to miss Breda and everyone again. On the other hand I feel that a longer stay in Finland would have been better. But a sushi dinner is waiting and I must go. And oh, did I mention that I'm literally on my way to somewhere else?
Blogging up in the air. Perhaps I should take that as a motto, to get as high as I can in whatever I do. The good thing in not being in Holland is to be not misunderstood.
I've also got a new friend already, she smells lovely, more of her later on. But now a little video of the old useless friends.

Exactly a year ago I arrived in Breda. The Netherlands. From these two links you can look back at my adventures and thoughts of that day;
after one or two heinekens
kill two birds with one stone
Feels like only yesterday. No year has ever passed so fast. Also no year has ever been that amazing.
Exactly one week from now I'm going to be "killing a new bird"; England. It's going to be tough to outdo the exchange year, but I'm ready for the challenge. With all the lessons learned in NL to bring along and opportunities of London to use.
Here's a video with some of my favorite pictures and moments from the first semester. I wanted to do one from the whole year, but there was just too much footage that part 2 will come soon.
